Yukei Hoshi, a Buddhist priest from Kii province, intended to get rid of an evil fox with nine golden tails who lived in Nasunoga-hara Field, Mutsu province, and disturbed travelers while he was on a pilgrimage with Gonki.

But they were counterattacked, and Gonki was eaten by the fox, and Yukei ran away.

Two archers, Miura-no-suke and Kazusa-no-suke, however, headed for Nasunoga-hara Field and finally exterminated the evil fox.
