When the Goddess of the Sun, Amaterasu Omikami, was annoyed by the vicious conducts of Susano-o-no-mikoto, her younger brother, she shut herself up in the rock room.

Darkness fell over the world. Deities including Ameno-koyone-no-mikoto and Ameno-futodama-no-mikoto came up with an idea to remedy the situation.

Ameno-uzumeno-no-mikoto performed a dance in front of the cave.

Ameterasu noted the gaiety outside and slightly opened the gate to see what was going on outside.

At that very moment, powerful god Amane-tachikarawo-no-mikoto forced open the gate to finally return light to the world.
