All masks are hand-made and colorfully painted, then lacquered for protection.
Most masks are made of Japanese hand-made papers.
Performaers do not wear masks in certain episodes. You may enjoy a series of mask changes from gentle facial expressions to evil spirited
expressions during scenes.
Some Kagura-Men(mask), such as Han-nya(Prajna) masks are used as a charm against evil spirits, usually displayed on walls.
Tools used during the Kagura dance (called Torimono, such as bows, arrows, a large trap ring with paper ornaments, and purification paper trees excluding swords and wooden spears) are given to audience members as charms against evil sprits.
